Student Reward Program
Each day the Marguerite Pâtisserie holds an after-school study hall from 1:30 in the afternoon until 5:00 in the evening. While students complete their (approved by staff) homework assignments, all items on the lunch menu are 10% off. If a student can complete an assignment to the staff's satisfaction they can choose a free simple chocolate truffle from the chocolaterie display. There is no purchase necessary; all students are welcome to study and earn a free treat! However, there is limited space in Study Hall, so it's first come first serve, with four tables reserved for college, four tables reserved for high school, three for middle school, and two for elementary school.

Students that wish to provide a tutor or study session for younger years, ask for a form from reception. For your first session of tutoring (a session lasts one hour) you will receive a half-off voucher which you can use for ONE meal of breakfast or lunch including drink.

For High School and College students only: each semester we hold a report card challenge. For each A you receive, you can get one free chocolate from our display. For Straight As you get to choose a dozen. For High School students only: If your get an SAT/ACT score over 1200/32, get a free drink and pastry voucher; for a score over 1400/34, get a free meal voucher which you can use for breakfast or lunch, for a perfect score, get a free, three-course dinner. Only for schools in Brooklyn!
In the Children's Gardening Club, hosted on Mondays during the same time as Study Hall, kids learn about nutrition and healthy eating while caring for the Marguerite Pâtisserie's garden and fruit orchard. In this club we aim to teach children about being healthy and nutritious, and the importance of fruits and vegetables while teaching them basic gardening skills.
A club hosted by the founder's husband and other male staff; the Gentlemen's Club is an organization created for young boys without a father. Boys dress up in suit and tie and learn how to shake hands, tie a windsor knot, respect women, and then when they get older, things like how to shave and how to get their first job. In the female equivalent, the Ladies' Society, young girls are taught about underclothes, self-defense, female hygiene, and when they are older, how to craft a resume and general finance.

Our Artists
In an effort to provide support to Brooklyn artists, the Marguerite Pâtisserie routinely displays Brooklyn-made artwork on our walls. If any of the pieces catch your eye feel free to ask for an information card on the artwork, or even take it home to hang on your own walls. If you are an aspiring artist wishing to display your piece at the Marguerite Pâtisserie, learn more below.

In a further endeavor to support the creative people of Brooklyn, on Friday evenings the 18+ terrace hosts a band to play a live set throughout the night. To see the future bands that will be playing at the Marguerite Pâtisserie, check the home page!
Sustainability
being a Certified Green restaurant
We aim to promote sustainability in multiple ways: all fresh ingredients left at the end of the day are given to the Brooklyn Homeless Rehabilitation Center; customers can bring back chocolaterie, tea and creamery tins that will be steam-washed and recycled, earning a $1 off voucher themselves; we have installed Solar Panel windows in an effort to use renewable energy sources instead of fossil fuels; we use bamboo straws instead of plastic to lessen our plastic waste, compostable wooden utensils (which we apply to our own garden compost) or re-used, power-steamed metal utensils and biodegradable, compostable paper to-go cups, boxes and bags; we use energy-efficient light-bulbs and motion sensors in our restrooms and we are a zero-waste restaurant, therefore, we do not produce any trash or food waste which has to be taken to a landfill.
